The Product Manager will be responsible for the product management and product development of the Radio and Accessories category projects assigned, with the goal of delivering high quality, innovative hobby products on time, within budget, and within scope.

The Product Manager – Radio and Accessories will report directly to the Program Manager – Radio and Accessories.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES

• Will own assigned products from end-to-end; maintaining and monitoring all aspects including financials, sales trends, marketing efforts, product quality, etc. after development is complete.
• Create and maintain comprehensive project documentation (requirements, specifications, docs, schedules)
• Coordinate internal resources and vendors for the flawless execution of projects assigned.
• Assist in the definition of project scope and objectives, involving all relevant stakeholders.
• Use market research and OEM teams’ input to bring new ideas for projects that customers will want or need.
• Market comparison – maintain competitive knowledge around features and pricing.
• Maintain accurate portfolio view with key points of business data.
• Ensure that all projects are delivered on-time, within scope and within budget.
• Manage changes to the project scope, project schedule, and project costs.
• Ensure Oracle is updated and accurate as the projects pass through each phase gate.
• Ensure Oracle phase gates are gone through on schedule without exceptions.
• Maintain and manage project timelines in Work Front – schedules must be kept up to date.
• Report to management weekly through weekly reports – escalate early and often.
• Successfully manage the relationship with all departments – cross functional management
• Ensure Product fit and compatibility with current and future family of products.
• Perform risk management to minimize project risks – apply lessons learned from past projects.
• Establish and maintain relationships with third parties/vendors.
• Travel to Asia, events, and trade shows will be required as necessary.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Education and/or Experience

• A degree, preferably in the field of Business Administration, Engineering or related, is a plus; not required.
• A degree, preferably in the field of Business Administration, Engineering or related, is a plus; not required.
• Proven work experience in product management and project management, preferably in the Electronics Manufacturing, and Electromechanical Assembly sector(s)
• 3+ years hands-on manufacturing experience, and a solid technical background with understanding of electro-mechanical assembly and/or manufacturing a plus
• 3+ years’ experience in the Radio-Controlled Hobby Products Industry
• Excellent client-facing and internal communication skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Solid planning and organizational skills including attention to detail and multi-tasking skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Work Front, Microsoft Office Project 2010 or better; Microsoft Office suite, Oracle
• PgMP / PMP / PRINCE II certification is a plus.
